But like, it's just more like I dinner on a Sunday the other day instead of like being hung over and like ordering three meals out. Like I was like. Waking up, going for a walk, getting coffee. Oh, like just it's little self-care. Yeah. Like it's just a little bit of, it's just a little bit different lately. I just feel like, I love that there's, the air is different. The energy is different. I feel different. I'm different. Yeah. I'm different. Am I saying anyw who went for a walk last night, I was like, oh, I'll go walking around the seaport just 'cause like, I like to, people watch there sometimes, but like there was watch way too much happening and I was like, you know what, I'm over over stem. So I just like proceeded into Southie and park there instead, like on a little side street. I go for my walk, you know, it's not very hard to navigate there. It's like a grid. It's 1, 2, 3, east, west. It's three straightforward. I lost my car and I am not, I I swear, Bridgette, I know you're not gonna be like calling. Please be fucking for real. I am very directionally, well, I don't have issues like that. Like I, that's not, that's Erin. That's sometimes Fiona. It's never me. I am motherfucking Magellan. I, no, I was started to panic. I was like, there's no like. There's no way. And so then I'm like, oh, it must've gotten towed. But I was like, no, I, I parked completely legally, like for once. No, like I, there was not a doubt in my mind. I had that creep for a minute that I was like, oh, maybe I, yeah, maybe, maybe. But no, swear. I needless to say, I got home past 8:00 PM I could not find my vehicle. I was tech and to the point where Fiona was like, do you need me to come get you so we can drive around and look for it? Every street looked the same. And I was like, this is crazy. This has never happened to me. I'm So, you didn't look at the street sign before you walked away from your vehicle? I remember I was like, village Pizza. I know exactly where I am. No problem there. At the end of the street there was a baseball field. So I was like, oh, I know. He's like, I know exactly where I'm right now. I made it all the way, like I went all the way to Castle Island, did a little loopty dupe, and then saw the baseball field again, and then was like, oh, my car's here. I was completely wrong. It's a different baseball field. So that's what confused me. So then when I was like, where's Village Pizza right now? It took me a really long time. I, I walked in circles and then I was like. Needless to say, I was a mile and a half off. A mile and a half off. Ooh. Mother got home around eight 30. She did. Wow. She was really hungry by that point. I was gonna say hang. She was cranky. It was just very cranky, sweaty, very upset about losing the vehicle. Very upset. My phone tells me where my car is. Mine usually does. It says parked car, right? It did not this time. I was so confused. I was like, where the fuck is my car? So that's why I was convinced I had a towed. 'cause I was like, where's the parked car? There's always something with the car with you. No. So fucking annoying. Like I was, I was like irritating. 'cause I was like, actually like it feels dumb because I'm not dumb when it comes to this stuff. I'm Bridget Shannon and I'm calling Shannon. I'm doing really well. I love the summer in Boston. I like the vibes. I like everyone's in a better mood. I'm just here for it. Did you like the heat this week? No, but I sat in front of my air conditioning the entire time. See like I like to go outside and when I can't go outside I get upset. Yeah. Last week I went to the beach 'cause we had Juneteenth off and I went to Revere Beach for the day and it was like 85, 86. You went to Revere Beach? I sure did. Okay. It was lovely. Was it? Yeah. I had myself a time. Okay. Read my little book. Got some sun. Okay. Had myself a day. You do look colorful. Thank you. Little, little hair toss, a little swoops toss. Do toss. Yeah, no, I'm good. I've had a pretty packed couple of weeks. Pride was a couple weekends ago. It is truly the most electric day in Boston, and it was the day of a ton of protests. So everyone out and about even crappy, rainy, 62 degrees out. Just electric factory. It's electric. Favorite day of the year. The very next day was Bunker Hill Day, so back to back parades Monday. I was a vegetable as you should be. Also, I went on a date and I sent you my outfit before I went. Mm-hmm. Because I was wearing white pants that had like a. A bell Bottom. Meat. Meat. No. They're like, yeah. It was a, A flare with a fringe. Yeah. Very cute. But not cute. Not a fringe, but like a No, I would never Fringe. Fringe. A light fringe. A light. Not because like I did anything crazy. Like I do obviously remember, but it was like a, it was like a brownout situation. But I don't really remember Chris Stapleton. And that's like deeply upsetting to me. I remember. Yeah. He was excellent. No, like I know he was, I remember thinking like, oh my God, he sounds so crisp and like perfect. He sounded better than he does on the radio. Yes. Completely. Yeah. I wanted to be like, can you sing the national anthem? Because I was expecting you to gimme a seat number and when you didn't, I was like, I'm just not understanding where you are. Like when you walk into Gillette Stadium, there's one main floor and then everybody is either walking directly forward to go down or going up, and it's like one level is where everyone starts. No. So your girl has never started there because I'm always in the nosebleed, so I did not, that's crazy to me. So I do. So I was like, I'm on the deck. I'm at the front of the stage facing the stage, and she was like, I don't get it. And I was like, no, not a, you literally have my location. Have my location. But that doesn't mean anything. It's not saying like, I'm on this floor. You could, you could have been on the, the, the loe like I had. I simply had no idea. I was like, you need to like the photo. I was like, oh, perfect. Yeah. So I sent her a photo because I've only ever been in the nosebleeds, like I. I was like, okay, Papa. Well, we never sat 'cause all of our seats were elsewhere. Yeah. I also don't sit, but I usually am still in the nosebleeds. That's 'cause that's where your people are. Yeah, my people are up there. That's where the vibes are. So I went on an independent exploration, if you will and I had my, my cowgirl boots slung over my shoulder. They were half a size two big, so they really started to hurt me. Which is why you were in socks when I saw you. Yes. So I took them off. Right. And I was like, you know what? I simply just don't give a shit. I put them over my shoulder and I walked by and I saw what I did see was a sign that said Hot dog. And I, I did get one and I, one or two, one are, are you sure? Promise, swear on Spencer had one hot dog. I chatted it up with a security guard. I remember being like, Hey. So I actually remember the words being like, I just, my feet hurt. I'm really not drunk. My feet just hurt. Like, please just don't judge me. Not true. Sure Colleen. And I was like, how do I get here? And I literally showed him the picture that you sent me. I was like, I just, I don't have this. I go, Colleen, it's literally anyone who has been to Gillette. He told me I'm not allowed down there. Why I don't, because I don't, I'm a nose bleeder. I don't know. That's not true. No, I don't know how to explain it to you. They just, they just wouldn't let me. So I was like, okay. And so I, me and my hot dog were like, didn't listen to him. And I just, I don't even remember. I just remember being like, I see Joe's head and I put my arm off like this and I, no, you saw me. No, I saw, I saw Joe and then I was like, oh, Joe's there, then Bridget must be there. And then I looked to my right and then you were the next head I saw. 'cause obviously by height and I was also waiting for you. Yes. So I did, I did find you. But I had the, I inhaled that hot dog in like a two second. I was gonna say, 'cause when I saw you, there wasn't a hot dog. So somewhere between, no, it didn't take me long. Three bites. Picture me talking to myself, walking down the ramp with a hot dog. Like not a, not a soul in sight. There was no one on there. And I was, I didn't eat. We had bagel deli. Ugh. What'd you get? Italian. Italian, of course. So fucking good. We had subs on the way there, so probably around like three o'clock. And then I did not eat the rest of the day. I woke up fucking starving. That's like a, that's like a long time. Erin went to Dunkins and I was like, can you get me a hash brown? Like I'm fucking losing. I'm feeding. Yeah. I'm hallucinating. I'm starting to see a mirage. I'm like, perishing. I'm passing away. I'm literate. I'm hidden. Yes. Also, I will say like I had that hot dog, but I didn't tell her. And if Fiona got that hot dog and then on my way back to them, I got chicken fingers. And then I was like, guys, I got us food. We must be starving. As if I didn't just deep throw a hot dog. And I didn't tell her that hot dog was for you. I still haven't told them. And I picked up the thing of ketchup and I took a french fry and I go, oh, look at this really yummy ketchup and we're going to eat the whole, immediately got up, sat down and started eating ketchup. I do have to tell you about a woman I saw, an experience I saw before my brownout at Chris Stapleton. Please tell me, I looked over to my left in the nosebleeds where, you know, the creatures are creature up there and I'm one of them and they're one of us, you know. However, I did look to my left and I saw a woman and I said, gang. What's happening over there? There was a grown adult, she kind of was giving thousand pounds. I hope that this cast grows on me more and there are times where you're watching, where you hate people midway, and then you love them by the end and vice versa. And Casa Moore is always an absolute bloodbath. I don't think this season will be any different, so I'll be really curious. It's terrible. Okay, I just wanna preface that trigger warning for everything. Today we are doing the victims of the Long Island Serial Killer the Beach one. Gil? Yes. Diego Beach. Oh, that's why it was scratching edge for me. I just watched the doc. Yes. One of the on Netflix, the newer ones. Yeah. Yep. I watched the documentary, it's called Gone Girls, the Long Island Serial Killer. It's on Netflix, it's three episodes. It's excellent. It is excellent. I cannot recommend it enough, and I watched the 48 hours, the Gilgo Beach Serial killings. Okay, let's go back to May 1st, 2010. Shannon Gilbert, she's 23 years old. She is a sex worker and on May 1st, her and her driver, his name is Michael P. We're driving around Manhattan and they get a call from one of her Craigslist customers and his name's Joe Brewer. She's a driver. She's high class. She's high class. Listen, she's an entrepreneur. Live your life, literally running her own business with a driver. Get it? Girl John Brewer calls her, it's right around midnight and he's like, Hey, I know you're in Manhattan. And I'm in Long Island, John Brewer. It's Joe Brewer. Oh my God. His name is Joe Brewer. I've been, when we, John I, John Brewer. Yeah. RIP. John Brewer. Taven miss you every day. I'm like, this is our guy. No, Joe Brewer. My bad. No disrespect to Joe, but John's better. John Brewer was everything to us. Come back. It was everything. Joe Brewer calls right around midnight and he's like, Hey, I'm in Long Island. I know it's a trek, but if you make the trip, I'll make it worth your while. Okay. Money-wise. So Michael P drives her there. He sits outside of our house for a few hours and Joe Brewer comes out around Dawn and he taps on the window and he's like, so Shannon won't leave. And at 4 51 she calls 9 1 1 from Joe's house and she's saying, someone's after me. They're trying to kill me. And you can hear two men in the background who have been identified as Joe and Michael, and I don't really know how all of this happens. It's very confusing to me if I'm gonna be totally honest. No, I agree. Yeah. She ends up running away and they can't find her. But she's going to neighbor's doors and she's banging on the doors. You can hear it on the, I listen to the 9 1 1 call, which I don't recommend. Don't listen. 9 1 1 calls make me so upset, but you can hear her banging on the door. And the 9 1 1 operator is asking, where are you? You can tell she's clearly in distress. She's very scared. She runs away and at one point you can hear her screaming, like she's just straight up screaming. And then it goes very quiet. And the 9 1 1 call, the operator is like, hello, hello, hello. Michael P says he tried to find her and when he couldn't, he left. And Joe Brewer went back into his home. And I just, you know what? Make it make sense, I'm, I'm gonna save my thoughts. So Shannon had many people who loved her and were worried about where she was when she didn't show up, especially her mother, Marie Gilbert. Marie Gilbert is a fucking badass. And when the police realize that Shannon is a sex worker, they did not take this seriously. Marie does not let up. This entire case revolves around Marie Gilbert in her non-stop push for the fucking police to do anything. She was out in front of the, the press holding signs, trying to make sure no one forgot about Shannon. It, it's heroin. They hear a sex worker and they don't care anymore. They don't care. You live a high risk lifestyle and they don't fucking care. It's disgusting. Eight months after Shannon has gone missing, her mother is continu, continuously pushing. They finally decide we're gonna search for her. So they start to search eight months later, like I said, and they find human remains on Gilgo Beach. And they actually called Shannon's mother and they thought it was her and it wasn't because Shannon had a titanium jaw. And they knew that this body did not have that. During that search, they find three more bodies. So now we are up to four bodies, and none of them are Shannon Gilbert, and they're all on this stretch of highway that's pretty deserted. And they're, they're next to each other, but they're spread out. Yeah, decently spread. That is when the cops realize that there is someone hunting women in Suffolk County on Long Island. And as far as forensic evidence goes, the crime scene's not great. It's on a beach with salt water and water, which obviously breaks things down and just doesn't help keep things intact. It can be really sunny. It's also New York, so it can be freezing cold. It's just not a great spot for evidence to find evidence. So they don't find much of the crime scene. And they're trying to link these women, and they all have a few things in common. All of the women are here in Long Island for work, sex, work specifically. They're all bound and they are all petite. They were wrapped in burlap. Ew. Which is just such a gross, I don't know why that gives me the heebie-jeebies. So in January of 2011, Suffolk County has a press conference to announce the four women who have been positively identified. It's Marissa Barmy, who's 24 years old. She was last seen July, 2009. Megan Waterman, who's 22 years old. She was last seen in June of 2010. So young, Amber Costello is 27 years old. She was last seen September, 2010 in Maureen Brainerd. Barnes is 25-year-old, years old, and she was last seen in July of 2007. Each family member of these women are in the documentary and they all speak about the women in their lives, and it is just heart wrenching. So I'm saying it's heart wrenching and the turmoil of them. Waiting to hear and wanting something to happen and then finally getting that horrific news. I just can't imagine it. So in the press conference, they say the victims were in a high risk business. They specifically bring this up because they know the public's about to lose their shit. And instead of thinking a madman is on loose hunting women, the narrative is now, as long as you're not a sex worker and you're not using Craigslist, you should be good. Like cool. They, because they don't want the entire public to lose it. Yeah. But they want to inform people. But by doing that, they're putting these women, these victims in a horrific light matter. Like not to say like they deserve no sex workers. Not bad, but it's like, oh, you're a sex worker. Course does not happen. It doesn't matter to, that's, it doesn't matter what you do for a living. You're a fucking W. Yeah. Don't even started. I'm saying that's the stigma. It's gives off. They did it on purpose. Yeah. And the family is saying they're still fucking human beings. Let's start there and. The women in these situations won't come forward if you keep treating them like lowlifes, like the other women who have probably experienced something similar aren't gonna give you tips if this is how you're speaking about them to the public. Yeah. So at this point, Shannon Gilbert, they think that they're connected, but they don't know. So they go back and they interview Michael p and Joe Brewer, they both cooperated, they both passed a polygraph, which we all know polygraphs don't really mean shit anymore, but they do. However, like when I watched it, like they did shitty, like they were just shitty and like weren't their best version of themselves, but like, I don't, like they weren't really like giving like we did something, you know? No, it sounds like they were both like, we not fucking putting up with this tonight. Yeah, no, they're just idiots. Like I just, I don't want any, whatever the fuck is happening, we're not into it and just didn't try, which is just really too fucking bad. And honestly, like not obviously wouldn't want. I'm not saying that this should have happened, could have happened, but like if that didn't happen, like they would've, who knows how long it would've taken 'em to find the others. I know I, no, it's Marie Gilbert. Not to say that she like died of like, you know what I mean? Like No, a hundred percent. A hundred percent. It is Marie, on a positive note, Gilbert pushing for this, where they found everybody else. So Joe Brewer gives the cops his car, they let them search his house, but something is just not right about that night. I don't know what it is, it's just none of it sits rights with me. But we will go past that. So these women and victims are now being called the Gilgo four. I hate the nicknames. It's all like media, so whatever's like click bait. It's catchy. I hate it. Yeah, I hate it. They are people. So let's talk about the victims. Let's talk about these women. Maureen Brainerd Barnes went missing in 2007. She lived in Connecticut and she was a single mom and she needed to make extra money because she was struggling to make ends meet. And she was traveling to New York and her sister, Missy, she called her and she told her she was taking the train to New York for work and that she was doing modeling. Missy did not know she was a sex worker. And it sounds like Maureen started as an S escort and then became a sex worker when she realized how much more money you could be making. Mm-hmm. Which is a very common shift. You're right there. It's kind of like, might as well dip the toe and you make, you know, X amount more. So going to NYC wasn't uncommon for Maureen. They interview her friend in the Netflix documentary who was also a sex worker. They did a lot of stuff together. She said they offered a thing on Craigslist called the Girlfriend Experience, and they had safety precautions. They checked in, they, they didn't use their real names like Maureen went by Marie. And it sounds like they always had some type of weapon to protect themselves. On them at all times. But Maureen, this particular weekend was desperate. And she was desperate because she and her roommate were about to get evicted. And Maureen's baby daddy was using the eviction as defense to get full custody of their son. So Maureen ist a pressure cooker, and the only way out is cash. Yeah, you do whatever you do, whatever it takes. She needed three grand. And so her and her friend work all weekend and they just don't have the three grand. And the court hearing's on Tuesday and the friend says on Monday morning, she was like, I have to go home. And Maureen said, I'll stay. I need to make it. I don't have a choice. And that was the last time her friend ever saw her. She never showed up to court. Which was a huge red flag she never would've missed. Yeah. This court hearing ever, it sounds like Maureen did go to leave New York because she calls her sister Missy on her way home, and Missy knew she was at Penn Station because she could hear the announcements in the background. Like she could tell she was at Penn Station and she said she was. That is the last time they ever spoke, and her phone pinged on the Queensborough Bridge, which is the direction you go to, to go to Long Island. She's never seen again. Interesting, similar experiences to Shannon Gilbert. Once the police find out that Maureen's a sex worker, the family felt like it just was not a priority and they were getting leads, which this would as a family member kill me. Oh, we spotted her here. Oh no, she's over there. Oh no. I saw her at this club and all of them are obviously for Naugh, like nothing pans out. Yeah. Two weeks after she went missing. The friend, the sex worker friend gets a call from a blocked phone number. And it's a man. And he says, I saw your Craigslist post. Are you from Connecticut? And she was like, yeah, why? And he said, well, I met another woman from Connecticut. Do you know Marie? And Marie was Maureen's escort name. And then he goes on to describe exactly what she looks like, the tattoo on her arm you know, details. You would only know if you knew her, right? And the friend goes, she's missing. And he goes, no, she's not. I just saw her at a whorehouse in Queens. And the friend is like, oh my God, I have this smoking hot lead. Like I just solved the case. And she goes, can you call back and don't block your number? I wanna give your number to police so that they can call you and corroborate the story. Like we could find her. And he is like, yeah, yeah, yeah, no problem. He never calls her back. Of course, Maureen was missing for three years. Y Megan Waterman. Megan Waterman was a mother of a three-year-old girl named Liliana. Megan was a sex worker in Central Long Island and she was staying at a Holiday Inn when she left to go meet a client in the video footage you can watch, it shows her, she's like around the front desk and then it shows her leaving the Holiday Inn at 1:15 AM and she is never seen again. And her cell phone pings in Massapequa Park in Long Island, Amber Costello. Amber lived in a house on Long Island with her friends. She had put an ad on Craigslist and she was on the phone with a client and most of her work was done at home, meaning the Johns came to her. And on this night she never, ever, ever did this. But on this night, she was convinced to go meet a guy who was waiting for her in his car. And it wasn't right outside the house, it was a short walk away, but it was like down the street and around the corner so you couldn't see him. And she again, never did this. She left without any of her belongings on her. No purse, no wallet, no phone. And her guy friend who lived with her. Said he walked her to the door, she hugged him, said, I love you. And she kept walking and he said he was relentless. He called multiple times. They were on the phone for a number of minutes, like it wasn't these quick phone calls. He was offering her $2,500 for 24 hours. And at that time, Amber was doing $200 a pop. That's crazy. Also. So 2,500 is bank? Yeah. And he basically says, for 24 hours, I'll give you this money. However, the police do realize that the person who called Amber was on a burner phone and they don't know who's using the burner phone, but they know enough info about the burner phone to know that it's pinging off the towers in Long Island. So they're like, this killer is local. It's gotta be someone around here. Yeah. the first two victims were picked up in New York City and brought to Long Island, and the second two victims are nearby and it seems like he's changing his tactics to be more convenient to him, that they're closer to him. Melissa Barmy moved from Buffalo, New York to New York City to be a hairdresser. She at some point started as an escort, as one does, and she was in the Bronx and she was legit hanging on her stoop, like all dressed up. Cute fit, full beat, hanging out on her stoop. And she mentioned that she had an appointment with a client on Long Island and she was never seen again in her cell phone, registered in Central Long Island. That's the last time it pinged. Damn a week after she went missing I fucking, the way I would light this man on fire a week after she went missing her sister Amanda. Gets a phone call from Melissa's phone, she's missing. So obviously when you're the sibling with a missing sister, the moment you see her name, you immediately pick up Amanda. The sister is 15 years old at the time. Amanda picks up, she hears a man's voice and he begins to taunt her. She kept asking about her sister. He wouldn't tell her. He made it very clear he knew who her sister was and he knew who Amanda was, and Amanda is half black. And he commented that she was a half breed, so he had clearly Googled her or looked into her. She said that he was very calm, controlled, and clearly was enjoying himself. And he said something to the effect of, I'm watching your sister's body rot. Great. She's fucking 15 years old. So law enforcement start tracking Amanda's phone because they're expecting him to keep calling and harassing her. Yeah. So poor Amanda is being used as bait and she is literally sitting around waiting for this man to call and try to keep him on the phone long enough so that the cops can track him. And they asked her, who do you think it is? Like who do you think you're speaking to? What do you think he looks like? Like they want, they need anything at this point. Like how the fuck is she supposed to know? Yeah, truly. And she said he's definitely a male, he's middle aged. He doesn't sound young. I'm assuming he's white, but obviously I can't be sure. Yeah, right. And so they try to pinpoint a location and they get Manhattan. So they're like, okay, it is someone who lives in Long Island and commutes to Manhattan and spends a considerable amount of time in Manhattan. This is a huge clue that comes up later. So please put a pin in that. But the calls stop and that's as far as they get. 'cause he's no longer calling Amanda's phone, so they can't use her. Got it. No suspects. Nada, no notes. Here we go. Tons of leads are coming in through a tip line. Nothing is panning out. So they have the FBI behavioral analysis team put together a profile of who they think the killer is, and all I can picture is criminal minds. Mm-hmm. Derek Morgan, JJ help us. No. Legit. Yes. So they say he's a white male, probably in his forties. He's socially competent, but he is very devious. He blends in well into the community and is most likely a family man. But if he has a family, they're not around all the time because it's clear where these bodies are found. They're also being murdered at a different location. So he's murdering them, wrapping them in the burlap, carrying them to the vehicle and dumping them at Gil. Doesn't burlap like, isn't that like a, doesn't it like plug scent or something like there's a reason that killers use burlap? I think. Yeah, like one that's just like icky obviously. 'cause you think of like, like horror movies and shit. Like Yeah. So gross, Burla gross over the head, like, you know what I mean? But I think there's a reason, I mean, I could be totally be wrong, but I don't know. Not that makes honest you, that makes it any better in any way. No, I know what you mean though. Like why burlap specifically, if anything that's like, even like it's more methodical. Yeah, no, it's, it's so, it's so planned. It's so premeditated. So let's go back to Amber Costello for a second. The cops, after all the Gilgo four get found, right? The cops go back to her house and talk to talk to her friends and they're like, what were her ma last movements? Like, let's retrace her steps. You know what I mean? Mm-hmm. Her two guy friends are in this documentary and they tell the cops, you need to look into this guy. He is Red Flag Central. There was a guy here a couple weeks ago. She wanted to just dance for him with no sex, and her friends were not home at the time. And when he wanted sex and she wasn't having it, he started to get physical with her. She got really scared and she runs into the bathroom and locks the door and calls her friends. And so she calls them and she's like, please come home. I'm hiding in the bathroom. I'm really scared of this man. These two guys come home with baseball bats. No, they were kings. They were like, oh, we are not fucking around. So they run into the house and when they get there, they find her in the bathroom and, and she says, is he there? And from behind them they hear, who the fuck are you? And they turn around and the way they describe him is this fucking ginormous man. He's about six foot four, six foot five. He's the size of the door. He's about 240 pounds. And he's pissed and he's yelling about how he wants his money back and they're threatening him. And they actually had a pit bull. And one of the friends is like, I will stick this fucking dog on you. Like do not mess with us. And she comes outta the bathroom to stand behind them. And they said as they were fighting him out of the house the entire time, he wouldn't look at them. And he was solely focused on looking at her. Ew. Like he was laser focused on just her. Ew. What? And so they push him outta the house. He never stops looking at Amber. And he just says, I'll see you. And he gets in his car and he leaves. And so when the cops show up, they're like, you need to find this ogre looking fucking dude. He's six five, he's two 40. He drives a first generation dark green Chevy Avalanche. Like so specific. The police don't do anything naturally. This will come back. Drives me insane. Put a pin in it. So Shannon's mom, Marie is still out there pushing for the search for her daughter. She was the one who pushed that got the Gilgo four, found. Shannon was not included in that search. She was not found. So it, the, the search is not over. Please continue. Yeah. My, my brother, that shit. In the spring of 2011, they finally order a new search for Shannon after again, her mother's relentless pushing, and so they close roads down, they're going through bushes and shit. They start to search and they find body number five. A few days later on April 4th, they find three separate human remains in one day. They're finding skulls, teeth, hands, literally littered along this parkway. Then they find bodies number nine and number 10. None of them are Shannon Gilbert, and now they're like, holy crap. We have the biggest serial killer case in Long Island of this generation. No leads and no suspects, and bodies are literally piling up. It's awful. It's absolutely awful. So the additional victims, massive trigger warning here. Please note that if, if you don't like, just skip ahead 30 seconds. Jessica Taylor in 2003 was last seen, she was at the Port Authority in Midtown Manhattan. She was also a sex worker and she was dismembered. Valerie Mack is a 24-year-old from Philly. She was a sex worker and she went missing in 2000. They find the body of an unidentified women. The police refer to her as peaches because of a tattoo on her arm and they find a unidentified little girl they named Baby Dough. And they confirmed that she is the daughter of Peaches. Got it. They also found an unidentified Asian male and he was dressed in drag and counting. Shannon, we are now at 11 people. Shannon has not been found yet, but we're just assuming at this point. But I mean, hello? Yeah, so there are 10 bodies on Gilgo Beach. So this, and we can post this. This is where they're all located. Intracon. All right here. Some of them you guys are 0.2 miles apart. Some of them are 0.5 now. Some of them are like 1.5. Some of them are next to each other. Good lord. They're just walking down this parkway and finding body parts. It is fucking insane. Also, that time gap from when they went missing. Yeah. To when the like That's like what, like 15 years? Yeah. It's a long time. That's crazy. It's a long time. Some of them. Yeah. All of the friends and family of the missing women got together and it's just really incredible to see them bond in the documentary. I, I don't know if you felt that way too. It's like, yeah, at least they have someone to talk to, feel with. I don't even, I don't even wanna call it silver lining. There is no silver lining. But to go through something so specific and so traumatic and have other people you can talk to about it, I can imagine it is. And not just one. Literally multiple. Yeah. It's just insane. A gang, if you will. So again, no, Shannon, and now we're going on 19 months and there are 10 bodies Shannon went missing right next to a marsh. And in those 19 months that's so tough to find. The police have never searched the marsh. The police decide to search the marsh in December of 2011. Two things. One, why are we choosing the dead of winter to search a marsh? Yes. Two, you're just lazy because marshes are very difficult to search. It's literally icky. Yeah. They were like, mm, it's deep, but yeah, let's choose the dead of winter. That's cool. Yeah. Not the, not the spring, not the summer. Right. Cool, cool, cool. Right. So they find someone's belongings right next to where Shannon went missing, and it turns out it's Shannon's pocketbook, her id, her cell phone, her shoes, and her clothes be fucking for real. So when the cops at that point realize she's probably in the marsh, they go all in, they're in the mud, they're in the brush. They're sometimes, at one point they had to call people and get them to pull them out because they were in over waist deep and stuck. So they're fucking in the thick of it. Finally, it's a hundred acres of searching, and the victim's families were all there because this is right around the one year anniversary of the Gilgo four being found. So all of the families of these victims are there and presses obviously everywhere. You know, everyone's waiting to hear. If Shannon's in the marsh on the exact one year anniversary, Shannon's mother Marie gets a phone call that they found her and she is the 11th victim. The fact that it's on the one year two, two is just chilling. And so I am glad for Marie that she had people around her when she received this horrible news and some closure. She was found a half a mile away from where she was last seen, but pretty far from her belongings, which I found really interesting. One thing I was, and they were all together. Yeah. Like it was like giving, so it wasn't like littered, like everything else has been where it's spread out. Yeah. It like, I also just like, if it's a marsh, it's not like, it's one of those things where they put her in water and she floated, like was he walking her through the marsh? Oh. So, you know what I mean? She's so, she was naked and so people were unsure. A okay. The police were trying to say, it might've been an accidental drowning, please. And she. I'm sorry in nude. I don't mean to laugh. It's the least fucking funny. It's just in, it's just such a wild take. Yeah. Of, of course she wasn't. Because if you are a woman, and this is said in the documentary, and I totally agree, if you are running for your life, right? Think of that nine one one phone call. She's screaming. If you are scared, you're saying, someone's trying to kill me, they're coming after me, and you are screaming. The last thing you are gonna do is stop in a wet marsh and take off wet jeans. When is the last time you tried to take off wet jeans and how long did it take? Literally, never. It's miserable. It's miserable. It's miserable. No one is out here in a marsh trying to strip their clothes off, and so the cops were like, well, it could be hypothermia. Because when you have hypothermia, your body actually gets really, really warm and it is common for people to take off their clothes when they're hypothermic. Question mark. Yes. So great follow up because they bring her to a medical examiner of course. And they come back undetermined in Shannon's poor fucking mother Marie is still left with no answers. Good Lord. And they act as if it's accidental and it just falls by the wayside. And without being able to tie her to the other girls, she then sinks in priority again. Like she almost wanted answers for her own clarity, but also to stay relevant. So something justice is served. Yeah. But if it's undetermined and they can't link it, it's like, well that's next on our caseload, I guess. That'll come after the other 10 bodies we found recently. Right. So she pays for a second autopsy to be done by someone else. I do. You know what's supposed to come outta my mouth? I was gonna say, and I don't even remember this from the thing, it's like so shitty when that happens and like you, the family knows it's not correct and they literally have to go out of their way and use their own funds to pay for and alternative. It happens all the time. People get private investigators, they're like, I'm not buying what you're selling me. Yeah. So they go to a second medical examiner and he says that it is inconsistent with a natural cause of death. And he believes she was strangled. Let's talk about the police department. I just, all right, buckle up, gang. So Richard Dormer was the police commissioner and he said, this is one killer. All of these women, well all of these people, excuse me, there was a man. All of these people are one killer. Thomas Boda was the Suffolk County DA, and he's like, I do not agree. I think that the Gilgo four are connected and the other bodies that were not intact or wrapped in burlap must be someone else. And they publicly go back and forth debating this topic and people are like, what are you doing? We want answers. Stop bickering with each other. This is not a dick swinging contest. This is not the time. Correct. Richard Dormer ends up retiring and his position is available and they hire James Burke, and this man is such a corrupt fucking piece of shit. He has more than a dozen internal complaints against him. This job bump moved him up four ranks. He jumped four ranks with this one job. So on a, he's on a power trip. He was highly recommended by Thomas Boda and that is how he got the job. And this author, he's on the dock. He's great. His name is Gus Garcia Roberts. He said He was an underqualified scandal plagued officer. They make the chief of department at one of the largest jurisdictions in the us. It's insane. Makes no sense. And Thomas Spoa was a prosecutor for almost 30 years. Highly, highly, highly respected, revered in the community. This man has pull. Everybody listens to Thomas Spoa and Gus. This reporter I mentioned, this author, he's like, I wanted to look into how James Burke and Thomas Boda know each other. Like, how did we get here? Yeah. Like how, what's this referral situation? And he goes, the more I looked into it, the more atrocious it got. Let's rewind for a minute to 1979. Oh. Again, massive trigger warning of a death of a child. So just skip ahead if you need to. In 1979, we're in Smithtown, New York. Johnny Pius is 13 years old. He begged his dad that he could ride his bike to school. He wanted to go to the school and he never came home. And he was beaten to death and he had stones shoved down his throat. Ugh. And he had literal sneaker marks on his face. That's so upsetting. It's awful. And they lived in suburbia USA, so people were of course, beside themselves at Shook how vicious and tragic this whole thing was. So this comes across the desk of a young Thomas Boda, who's an up and comer prosecutor. Right? Cool. Like I said, Johnny had a shoe print on his face. And so police start looking at teenagers because the style of sneaker seemed like what a young kid would wear, right? And so homicide cops start questioning teens right off the street. They're just pulling people like, what do you know? What do you know? What do you know? So seventies, and then they get their guy in a 15-year-old boy scout who's never been in trouble, confesses in the back of a detective's car. But the confession makes no logical sense. Okay? I don't know why people do this, why they would confess to a thing that they didn't do, but sure Thomas Boda runs with it, takes this and runs with it, and they want this 15-year-old and his brother to go down. So they hire snitches of other teens. They make other teenagers snitches in the same neighborhood. Cool. And wouldn't you know a 16-year-old juvenile delinquent comes up and saves the case with this very convenient story? And his name is James Burke. And Jimmy Burke testified against this 15-year-old boy in his word hinges on the entire case. This one account. And those two brothers get charged with murder and two other kids got charged as well. All based off of what Jimmy Burke said, and the relationship between Jimmy Burke and Thomas Boda has gone on for decades now, and Burke then becomes a cop and he rises up through the ranks. And then when the biggest job there is becomes available, who is there? But Thomas boda to be like, I think it should go to Jimmy Burke. And he has had, I need to preface this or I need to really make sure everyone is aware of this. He had so many internal violations, so many red flags came up about James Burke. It's, it's unfathomable. It's one of those people that should have never become a cop. He shouldn't ever, you know when you have, you have those like people in high school that you're like, I cannot believe you're a police officer now. Yes. It's like terrifying. Yes. That is him. You wear a gun on your hip. Great. So let's talk about their effect on the victims and the Gilgo case. The FBI was doing the first round of cell phone discovery in Thomas Boa, showed up and said, your work here is irrelevant. Cool. Then they tried to get the cell phone towers in specific areas to track down the burner phone and specifically where it was coming from. And Jimmy Burke said, it's too invasive, it's not cleared. That's not cleared here. And cops were told to not let the FBI assist them in any way. Spoa and Jimmy Burke did not want to work with the FBI. And they even have a memo in the documentary, and it's signed by James Burke. That said, anytime you're contacted by outside cops, federal agents, or otherwise, you are asked to report it to your supervisor. Why on earth would you not let the FBI help you with the biggest serial killer case in a generation? Because they're better. That's why what in the fucking ego is happening here? Do you know what I mean? Mm-hmm. What do you get outta that? In August, 2021, a woman named Lean comes forward and she says that she had a sexual interaction with James Burke and he couldn't get it up. These men never can. And he ended up getting really aggressive with her and he told her she wasn't a good whore because him not being able to get it up is obviously her fault, her fault. He also choked her. And so an internal investigation begins and Burke comes in with his lawyer and wouldn't you know it? It's Thomas boda. And so not only did Jimmy Burke not get fired, he wasn't even demoted and he to this day claims he never met this woman, Leanne, by the way. Good that that never happened. 'cause a woman would definitely come forward with a completely false story like that for sure, for no reason. It doesn't take a lot for people to draw the conclusion that Jimmy Burke might be involved in these murders because he is a man who doesn't think sex workers are worth their time or energy. The guy who is actively turning the FBI away and stopping them from helping, he is known for paying and fraternizing with sex workers and he's also choking them now. It does not take much to jump to this conclusion. Also, women in the community were not comfortable coming forward because they were treated like trash and oftentimes arrested. So other women who may have had experiences where they got by, by the skin of their teeth or got out 'cause something didn't feel right, we are not talking about it because the police are corrupt. Correct sleigh. At one point, Jimmy Burke called the killing of sex workers a misdemeanor. He also denies that. Cool? Hmm. Let me give you an example of this exact thing. There's this woman, Nikki, and she goes on a date with a guy in 2015. She is a sex worker and she walks in and there is a gigantic man sitting there and on their date he said, have you heard about the Go-go beach killings? And then he started to talk about it. His entire body language changed. He got way too excited. His eyes lit up and he kept referring to them as girl number one or girl number two. And she said it was completely dehumanizing. He's speaking to me, a sex worker from Long Island, and he's numbering these four women. Yeah. And he said, how do you think they get rid of the bodies at night without being noticed? I live right by there. It's really dark and secluded. So do you wanna come home with me? Be fucking for real? And Nikki's Spidey senses are tingling. She texted her friends, I think I'm on a date with the Gilgo Beach killer. She was. And so Nikki was on probation and she was worried she wouldn't be taken seriously and she didn't wanna get arrested, so she never told the police Lovely. And she said the way he was talking to me, it just chilled me to my core and I had to get the fuck out of there. Go with your gut. Meanwhile, families are trying to raise money to get private investigators themselves because they're hearing nothing from the police. There's no updates. They don't talk about it. They get asked in press conferences and they're just like, we got nothing. Cool. And I know I'm jumping around timeline wise, but stick with me. No, you're, no, you're fine. In July of 2014, families think there's a big break in the case. John Bit Roth is arrested for the murders of Rita Retti and Colleen McNamee. They were both sex workers and they were found in the same area, on the same parkway. There's also a possible third victim, and her name is Sandra Castilla. He was charged John Bit. Ross is charged and convicted two counts of second degree murder. In 2017, he was sentenced to two consecutive terms of 25 years. So 50 years to life in state prison. And it's similar, right? Sex workers on this parkway. So the families of the communities are like, oh my gosh, we might have an actual suspect. This is like a break. Yeah. Thomas boda shuts it down and says there's no link to the gilgo victims. Like, but how do you know, sir? Mm-hmm. How do you know? Because it's not Colleen. Good lord. Because it's just not because he said so. Yeah. It's just so the families are crushed once again. Yeah. Just like we finally had a break and no one's gonna do anything about it. Christopher Loeb, this poor fucking guy. He's a petty criminal. He's breaking into cars one night. Okay. He is addicted to heroin and opioids, and he steals from cars to support his drug habit. Okay? And he breaks into a black GMC Yukon, and he pulls a duffle bag, just finds one and takes it. And so he takes all of his findings back to his house and he's going through it and he opens the duffle bag and he finds really fucked up porn. Mm-hmm. Like not your normal stuff. Sex toys, and a gun belt. And then there are a bunch of union cards that say Chief of department. And it is then when he realizes that he stole the duffle bag that belongs to James Burke Hope. And he had no idea whose car he was robbing. Of course not. And they get him and they bring him to the police station and cops on the job and off duty show up to the police station. And James Burke kicks the shit out of him. He threatens to kill him, he threatens to kill his mother. They chain him to the floor for 10 hours. They all took turns beating him and assaulting him. And when the feds show up. Blue wall of silence. Just no one will say anything. No cop will admit to what is what has happened. No one will say anything until one day one cop says, our chief of police beat him up. And Jimmy Burke gets arrested by the FBI fucking Finally, he was convicted and sentenced to almost four years in federal prison. Crazy, crazy. It is now clear that the entire police department is corrupt, basically. And they found evidence that the cops got together after the fact and to get their story straight. And Thomas Boda was one of them, and they worked. Cover it up. Thomas Spoa is convicted of obstruction of justice, and he spends three years in federal prison. They end up being each other's downfall. Ironically. Yeah. And if anyone thinks maybe Jimmy Burke is a changed man, maybe he came out of prison and he's on the straight narrow. No. Nope. He was arrested in August, 2023 at a Long Island Park for public lewdness and decent exposure and solicitation. He's whipping his W out, whipping his W out and doing it with sex workers 'cause he can't get it up and he can't get a woman to date him 'cause he's a piece of shit. Slay, slay. So there's a changing of the guard. Thank fuck. This entire police station needs to be wiped at this point. A hundred percent. Good lord. But also, maybe there was a good one in there though. And there just, that makes me so sad for that one. Good one. No, I'm saying like, yeah, a hundred percent. They're guilty by association. I know. There go, sorry. That's okay. In 2018, Geraldine Hart, who had been running the FBI's Long Island office for a while, they make her Suffolk Police commissioner. She is a badie. She is now Geraldine, Geraldine Hart. I die for you. She also has been very invested in the Gilgo Beach case and she's in the dock and she said, I wanted those families to know that these women matter, that we care and we will do whatever it takes. And she is down to work with the FBI because she's, she is the FBI. So all systems are go is, and what I love about her is she wants to share shit with the public. She knows that. Things are made when people are talking, someone knows something. No. Yeah. This man obviously lives on Long Island. Like someone's all weirdo doing some weird shit. A a hundred percent. And she's all the way down for genetic geno genealogy. Wow. That's how so many things are solved, and at this point it's kind of new. Yeah. And she's like lean all the way in. Yeah. And that is how they're actually able to identify Valerie Mack because of her, the genealogy of it All. Right. She even at one press conference, they find a belt and they think the belt says either Hm or WH and she's like, listen, this is the initial stages of this investigation. We don't think this belt belonged to the victims, but this is it. Like if anyone knows who this belongs to, come forward, like she is sharing with the public, which we love. Let's rewind the clocks. Okay. One month after Amber Costello went missing, his last known victim, known being the keyword. October, 2010 in Philly, there is this strip club and this one girl named Taylor, she's 18 years old, and she was a shot server and she was a approached by a guy just feeding her cocaine and she was like, I was 18. I was looking for drugs and I was looking for cash. And basically he's like, there's way more where this came from and this is a really big opportunity for you to sell Coke to my friend John. And she's like, so his friend walks up, his name is John. He's ginormous. He's really tall, heavyset, middle-aged man. They leave together and in the car he openly discusses his pedophilic fantasies and he asked her if he could see pictures of her friends, young girls and young boys. And she realizes that this is sex work. And she is like, not trying to touch this man. No, she's getting, she's like, I'm so uneasy. She's like, I'm here for drugs in a good time. Yeah, I'm, this is not what I fucking signed for up for. Yeah. Yeah. So they get to a townhouse. How fucking creepy is this? There's mail on the floor. Kind of like if someone put it through the slot and then just never picked it up. Like if you're mailman or if someone just walked in and dropped it on the floor. Yeah. So there's just mail all over the floor. There's no furniture. Ew. There is nothing on the walls. It's giving your secondhand place where you kill people. And there are two beach chairs, folded beach chairs in front of a TV that is loudly playing porn on repeat. I can't say that I haven't, at one point or twice in my life, not had furniture and also used beach chairs in front of the tv, but I wasn't watching porn. But was it all of these things combined? No. One, maybe two. Am I the gilgo beach bird? No. My God. Jesus Christ. I'm just kidding. I'm kidding. No. So he's like, Hey, lay out the drugs. I'm gonna go upstairs. I'll be right back. So she's like, I'm laying out the eight ball. She's like, that work. I know, know what I came here for. I'm, I'm doing the drugs. I know what a, a girl who knows what she wants. We cannot hear an entrepreneur. And so he goes upstairs and she's like, I hear a bunch of shit. And I think someone might be up there. And she's like, I get all the drugs. I put them in the bag and I take out my taser and I book it to the door. And he hears her, turns the corner in barrels down the stairs. Imagine this girl. This at 18 years old, a six, five sickeningly large, disgusting man coming at you over, like, that's what we described him, Yeski. Ok. Like, yes. And she waits for him to get close enough and she tass his ass. She puts it right to his neck as she should and runs for her life. And she hightails it out of there. And she was like, I knew it was life or death. Like I just knew it. Yeah. So all of this to say there were many, there has to be so many other women who had something similar. Something like this happened that never came forward. So February, 2022, it's been 12 years since the Gilgo four were found. The case is still unsolved and there is another changing of the guard, the new commissioner, his name is Ronnie Harrison. He's an outsider, but he's from NYC, and he's all about collaboration. He puts together a task force. He's got state police, he's got the feds. Everybody is working together. There's a new da. He's ready to rumble like we are. We're solving this shit. We're fucking in it, and we're about to solve this shit. They start digitizing the evidence. They have not done this yet. It is literally ca like in a box. Yes. Okay, cool. So they start to digitize the evidence so they can just search for interviews and search for anything that pops up, any clues, any evidence. And they, there were some interviews they hadn't looked at in a decade, so wouldn't you know when they start to do that, they're searching for stuff in the friends of Amber Costello who described a ogre like fucking man. Massive man in a first generation dark green Chevy Avalanche who's big enough to carry dead bodies, pops up and they know about the two locations pinging from the burner phones. One is Manhattan, right? It's gotta be someone who's commuting to Manhattan and the other being Massapequa Park in Long Island. So this task force in February, March of 2022, in six weeks do the one thing that no one had done in 12 years, which is give them a suspect. And that suspect is Rex Erman. He lived in Massapequa Park with his wife in two children. He commuted into Manhattan and he was an architect. So they're like, okay, so he fits the profile. Now we need to start following him and we need to start tracking his phone. So they get Rex's phone records and they compare them to the locations of the burner phone. In lo and behold, everywhere Rex was going, the burner phone was also going. That's enough evidence there if you ask me. So it's technically circumstantial 'cause it's not pinpointed, but you're right, it's, there's too many things lining up. The next thing they have is a video of him going into a store and putting money on the burner phone. He has two. Like who the fuck needs two burner phones? And you're an architect. Correct. Be fucking for real. The investigation is still a secret though, because they didn't want him to flee or if he had someone, they didn't want him to harm anyone. Right. They just didn't want anything to happen. Yeah. So they're just following him around. They're tracking this bitch and the more they find the scarier it gets, and it turns out he has many anonymous email address addresses he's actively using to contact escorts. Craigslist, they said there were thousands of searches for sex workers. Thousands. Great. But again, this is all circumstantial. It's obviously is all lining up. But they need DNA. They need hardcore something that to bring down the hammer. Exactly. So the surveillance teams were told, if you see him eating, if you see him drinking anything and he disposes of it, dig it out of the trash and bag it so we can test it for DNA. So after 10 months, one day. He's eating pizza. The downfall of us all. He's walking down the street, he's eating his pizza. Imagine it was a hot dog. Imagine if it was a hot dog. Nope, it's pizza i'd. I'd grab it. I'd be like, do I eat it? Be strong. No, it has DNA. Well, I'm like, what about Dagg? What about the other end? So they get him walking down the street and he throws away a pizza box and they go into the trash and they dig out the pizza box. And in it, he didn't finish his crust. So the beauty of pizza and especially getting to the crust, there's a whole ass teeth in there. Oh yeah. The DNA profile matched the hairs by 99.96%, which means it is him. Ding ding. Two plain clothes officers, couple officers arrest him. They're being pretty tightlipped. They're like, when asked in interviews, they're like, we've found stuff and that. That's all they're really saying. Yeah. Like confirmed. We feel good about this. But that's all they impounded. His first generation dark green Chevy fucking avalanche. He tried wiping his laptops. I think he. I don't think he saw it coming. Like they asked the DA and he's like, no, I don't think he did. I think he proactively was doing that. Yeah. They were still able to get a ton of info off of his laptops. He was looking up a ton of stuff about the Gilgo murders, the victims, their families who was on the task force, who was involved. Horrific porn, horrific porn, torture, murder, and child pornography. I'm exhausted. They also found 300 guns in a vault in his basement. Nice. He hunted Kaen. So great. Mm-hmm. So one question you may be asking yourself is, how can a man get away with this? While he has a wife of 27 years and he's a father of two, the wife's an idiot. Mm I, so I'm gonna disagree with you here. I do think she is a victim as well in certain ways, different than of course, the women. He truly murdered. I guess there are some women murdered women that just don't. So let me explain how they, the police do not believe anyone in the family knew. And they pulled the financial and cell phone records and basically created a timeline of the family. And every single time the family was outta town, he was murdering. Why were they outta town without him? They would go, she's from Iceland. Oh, okay. And so they would go to Iceland and he basically, I don't know what excuse he gave them, maybe it was work. He would meet them later. Okay, cool. So on every family trip, even if it was to Atlantic City, he would show up later. So we were still in the family photos. He looked like he was there, but there was a gap, A delay? Yes. Got it. And they truly do not believe the kids or the wife had any idea what was going on. I will not talk about his past. This is a part of the documentary. I don't care. I don't care that you were bullied. I don't care that your daddy was mean to you. Go to therapy and don't fucking kill people. So his coworkers were shocked. Like one of his coworkers, when the name came out, she goes, that's so weird. There are two Rex humor mens. Oh. So the only people who were really creeped out by him were the people who lived around him. Everyone else was like, he's a totally normal guy. I guess nine to five, you can hide it. Right? His wife at first denied it and said he was not capable. She has since filed for divorce. I mean, I would hope so. She still goes to his court hearings and stuff, so I don't know where she stands. Their house was completely ripped to shreds during the search warrants, and they're really, they're going through hell. I'm not even gonna bring up the kids. I'm not gonna say their names. No. Yeah, the media has not been kind to them, so I will just leave it there. Their lives are very, very difficult. Yeah. Fair. So the news starts coming out about his arrest and of course the families, right? The Gilgo families and them figuring, you know, finally all of this is linking in. You're like, finally justice is gonna be served. Also, Taylor, the 18-year-old who tased him in Nikki, who went on a date, who sat across from him and he got too excited and the two guys who showed up with baseball bats for Amber are like, hello. The two guys were like, we gave you this exact description a decade ago in his vehicle, in his whole ass vehicle. What are we doing? So the Gilgo four is something the police have for years debated who is, who is responsible this is when they finally admit that they think it's all the same person and that it's Rex. So here are his charges as of now. In July 23, he was charged on three counts of first degree murder and three counts of second degree murder for Melissa, barmy Megan Waterman, and Amber Costello. On Megan Waterman and Amber Costello. Either his wife or his daughter's hair was found on them, like Rex's wife got it. In January, 2024, they added a second degree murder charge in the death of Maureen Brainerd Barnes. And in June of 2024, they added Sandra Castilla, who is the possible victim of John Bit Roth. He was the number one suspect in that case. Mm-hmm. They added Sandra Castilla. She's from 1993 is when she passed away. Yikes. They added her to his charges and Jessica Taylor. Why do people write or keep documentation of these things? They can't. He had news clippings of all the gilgo. They can't fucking help themselves. The ego on these people, it's so disgusting. Sicking. He created it in 2000 and deleted it. And in this manifesto is a list of equipment needed to kill someone. The prep, what to do with their bodies, post death dump sites that match the dump sites of these victims. Tips on how to do a better job next time. Like hit them harder at first. So at K it was before 2000. Get some, you know what I some rest so you can torture for longer. Not funny, but like are you serious? It, it was created in 2000, which means he already understood what worked and what didn't. Which means he is most likely, he's been killing probably for like 25, 30 years. Yes, yes. All of these things he has clearly done to victims already and is not his first rodeo. Now the families come together, these families who so, so deserve this justice so they don't feel so alone. The trauma bonding, I can't even imagine. So Megan Waterman's daughter, Liliana, she was three, she's now 17. It's crazy. And they're like, you look so much like your mom. And she has no memories of her mother. we just said this, there's a very high probability he killed many, many more women and they just haven't connected him yet. But he is in the system now. So we'll get there. Hopefully. Hopefully as genealogy continues, as other things unfold, we will find more things. We'll start pinging. Yeah. So the story of course, is absolutely horrific. It's tragedy from top to bottom. It is a testament to the strength and determination of these families. Especially Marie Gilbert. None of this happens without Marie Gilbert literally standing in front of press with a sign that says her daughter's name and says, do not forget. You know, that was a must. And all of these families who refused to say silent, who pushed for answers, demanded justice in reminded everybody that these women mattered and that they were missed. And I hope that as the investigation continues, as the trial continues, that justice will prevail and their courage you know, will lead to some well deserved fucking piece. Yeah. And it just really hit me because Maureen's sister, Missy waited 16 years for someone for, to see someone get arrested for her sister's murder in this July 3rd will be 16 years without Shannon, our cousin.
